Digital India is a plan started by the Government of India to assure the Government’s services are made accessible to citizens electronically by enhanced online support and by increasing Internet connectivity or making the country digitally enabled in the field of technology. Digital India consists of three core elements: the growth of secure and stable digital infrastructure, delivering government sets digitally, and comprehensive digital literacy.
Begun on 1 July 2015, by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it is both enabler and beneficiary of other important Government of India schemes, such as BharatNet, Make in India and much more.
As of 31 December 2019, India had a population of 138 crore people (1.366 billion), 123 crores (1.23 billion) Aadhaar digital biometric identity cards, 125 crores (1.25 billion) mobile phones, 44.9 crores (449 million) smartphones, crores (560 million) internet users up from 485 million people (35% of the country’s total population) in December 2019, and 51 percent growth in e-commerce.
Digital India Platform
Digital India Platform (DIP) is an action of the Government of India following the Digital India Programme to accommodate digitization services for scanned document images or physical documents for any organization. The purpose is to digitize and make available all the existing content in different formats and media, languages, digitize, and organize data extracts for document management, IT applications, and records management.
Digital India Platform presents an innovative solution by mixing machine intelligence and a cost-effective crowdsourcing model. It highlights a secure and automatic platform for processing and extracting important data from document images in a format that is ready for meta-data tagging, IT application processing, and analysis.
Digitize India Platform
Digitize India Platform gives an opportunity for government agencies to convert themselves into digital enterprises and for Digital Contributors, pays for doing simple digital India data entry jobs. It is designed to support DIP to lead all companies towards a paperless office, make data available on-demand to the citizens, free archived documents storage spaces, and improve digital public service delivery.
The program was launched on July 1, 2015, as part of the Digital India program.

- Read the terms & conditions and afterward click on accept and submit it.

Digital India Project/ Digital India Programme
To improve digital connectivity and make governance more transparent, the Digital India drive has launched some marvelous projects. Here are 12 of them.
The drive contains several projects which will concentrate on better governance, knowledge, and universal phone connectivity across the country.
1. Digi Locker
The service was started as an important means to store important documents like Voter ID Card, Pan Card, BPL Card, Driving License, education certificates, etc. in the cloud
The gateway acts as an online program to involve citizens in governance in a “Discuss”, “Do” and “Disseminate” program.
3. eSign Framework
This action would enable users to digitally sign a document online using Aadhaar authentication.
4. Swach Bharat Mission mobile app
The app will allow organizations and residents to obtain information about the cleanliness drive and reach the goals of the mission.
5. National Scholarship Portal
This action points to obtaining the scholarship means easy. From offering the application, verification, sanction, and disbursal to end receiver, everything relevant to government scholarships can be done on this single portal online.
Online Registration System following this action enables people to avail assistance like online registration, payment of fees and appointment, online diagnostic reports, counting on the availability of blood online, etc.
7. Digitize India Platform
This action will involve the digitization of data and reports on a large range in the country to make simple and fast access to them possible.
8. Bharat Net
Following this action, a high-speed digital highway will join all 250,000-gram panchayats of the country. This is the world’s largest rural broadband plan using optical fiber.
9. Wi-fi Hotspots
The construction of high-speed BSNL wi-fi hotspots during the country is yet a different drive to improve digital connectivity in the country.
10. Next-Generation Network
Launched by BSNL, this set will replace 30-year old telephone switches to handle all types of assistance like voice, data, multimedia, and other types of communication services.
11. Electronics Development Fund
The fund will be set up to help the manufacturing of electronics products that would help generate new jobs and reduce imports. The funds will support innovation, research and product rise to create a resource pool within the country.
12. Centre of Excellence on the Internet of Things (IoT)
In connection with NASSCOM, DeitY, and ERNET in Bangalore, Centre of Excellence will allow the rapid determination of IoT technology and promote a new growth strategy. IoT will help the citizens in assistance like transport systems, parking, electricity, waste management, water management, and women’s safety to build smart cities, smart health services, smart manufacturing, and smart agriculture, etc.
